ashru (also called Masru / Mashroo / Misru) is a traditional woven fabric that mixes silk and cotton . In Mashru, the warp threads (running lengthwise) are silk, which is what shows on the outer surface (gives the lustre). The weft threads (crosswise) are cotton. Thus the backside (inside) is cotton, which makes it more breathable and comfortable to wear especially in hotter conditions.
